Allan Myers has been recognized as one of Virginia’s inaugural 2026 InternshipsVA Top Employers for Interns, an award that highlights organizations with outstanding internship programs that support student development and workforce growth.

Presented by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the designation recognizes employers that have invested significant time and resources into creating high-quality, paid internship opportunities. Allan Myers received the INnovative Employer Award for its high-quality internship program and the INspiring Employer Award in recognition of a highly established and consistent internship program that has supported students for more than 18 years.

According to VEDP, programs like ours help strengthen Virginia’s talent pipeline while providing valuable hands-on experience for higher education students.

The recognition reflects Allan Myers’ continued commitment to developing the next generation of heavy civil construction professionals through meaningful learning opportunities and real-world industry experience.

In 2026, Allan Myers welcomed 62 interns across Virginia, including 44 college students and 18 high school students, providing exposure to careers throughout the company. As the 2027 campus recruiting season gets underway, 21 students have already accepted internship offers.

“Allan Myers internship program is a key driver of our early talent hiring and on ramping success,” Cristin Mowrer, Senior Director HR Business Partner said. “It serves both the students by helping them understand what a career in construction will feel like and the company for allowing us to build a strong pipeline for our early career hires and beyond!”

Allan Myers and the other InternshipsVA Top Employers were recognized during the Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Virginia Education and Workforce Conference in Richmond on October 1.
