We love a unique challenge and the prospect of working in changing environments and varying projects is what excites us about our jobs at Allan Myers. As the go-to contractor for difficult, unusual and “fix it now” jobs for the City of Baltimore, our Allan Myers Maryland office acted quickly to help fix a collapsed structure that severed gas, water, sewer, telephone and electric for two blocks of Baltimore covering hundreds of residencies and 60 businesses.
The Allan Myers team acted quickly, but safely, and dispatched ready-to-go teams to first stabilizing the collapsed structure before implementing a storm water bypass system.
Crews installed a 22-foot diameter access shaft to reach the impacted culvert before removing 1,000 cubic yards of debris. Then, 435 LF of 109” galvanized steel liner plate was installed and a permanent 108” access shaft.
The complete project took only three months of around-the-clock work, ensuring customer satisfaction to remedy an unplanned event.
